Who provides the psychological services?
Psychological services in California are provided by Heal Before Work Psychology & Consulting, Inc. and its qualified clinical professionals.
Heal Before Work Psychology & Consulting, Inc. is responsible for clinical evaluations, psychotherapy, treatment recommendations, psychological documentation, clinical decision-making, patient care, and other professional psychological services.
Does Ellimac Pipeline Inc. provide mental health services?
No. Ellimac Pipeline Inc. owns and manages the LeaveConsult.com website, brand, and related digital assets. It does not provide psychological services, diagnose mental health conditions, determine whether someone should take a leave of absence, provide psychotherapy, or make clinical decisions.
What types of concerns does LeaveConsult.com focus on?
LeaveConsult.com focuses specifically on mental health related workplace concerns. Individuals may be experiencing depression, anxiety, panic, trauma related symptoms, stress related conditions, grief, burnout, postpartum depression or anxiety, or other psychological symptoms that are interfering with daily or occupational functioning.
We recognize that these symptoms may be influenced by many areas of life. Family difficulties, marital or relationship problems, caregiving responsibilities, parenting, postpartum changes, financial stress, grief, trauma, major life transitions, social isolation, and workplace pressures may interact and contribute to declining mental health.
Do you only help people whose mental health problems were caused by work?
No. Mental health symptoms do not have to begin at work.
Someone may be experiencing significant challenges in their personal, family, social, or professional life. What matters clinically is understanding the person’s symptoms, circumstances, functional impairment, treatment needs, and overall psychological well-being.
Do you provide physical medical leave services?
No. Our clinical focus is mental health. We do not evaluate or certify leave based primarily on physical injuries, orthopedic conditions, surgical recovery, or other medical conditions that should be evaluated by an appropriate medical provider.
Do you handle workers' compensation cases?
No. LeaveConsult.com and Heal Before Work Psychology & Consulting, Inc. do not provide workers’ compensation evaluations or workers’ compensation treatment through this service.
Do you provide long term disability services?
We do not provide long term disability case management or evaluations specifically designed for long term disability claims. Our focus is mental health treatment, clinically appropriate periods of leave, workplace accommodations, intermittent leave, and supporting recovery.
Can you help with California State Disability Insurance?
When clinically appropriate, the treating clinical provider may complete psychological documentation related to California State Disability Insurance (SDI). Eligibility for SDI benefits is determined by the California Employment Development Department, not LeaveConsult.com or Heal Before Work Psychology & Consulting, Inc.
Can you help with FMLA or CFRA?
Clinical providers may provide appropriate medical or psychological certification when clinically supported. Eligibility for FMLA or CFRA protections depends on applicable legal requirements and employment circumstances. A clinical recommendation does not guarantee eligibility or approval.
Do you assist with workplace accommodations?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, psychological services may include evaluating mental health related functional limitations and recommending reasonable workplace accommodations.
Accommodations are individualized and must be supported by the clinical circumstances. The employer ultimately determines whether and how an accommodation can be implemented through the applicable interactive process and legal requirements.
What is intermittent leave?
Intermittent leave generally allows eligible employees to take medically necessary periods of leave in separate blocks of time rather than taking one continuous leave.
When mental health symptoms support the need for intermittent leave, a treating provider may evaluate the clinical circumstances and provide appropriate documentation. Eligibility and approval are determined by the applicable employer, plan, law, or administrator.
Do you work with postpartum mental health concerns?
Yes. Our clinical services may support individuals experiencing postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and other mental health concerns associated with the perinatal or postpartum period.
Our focus is the psychological condition and its effect on functioning. Obstetric or physical pregnancy-related medical conditions should be addressed by the appropriate medical provider.
Do you have experience with third party leave administrators?
Our clinical team has experience responding to documentation and administrative processes associated with third party leave and disability administrators, including Sedgwick, Prudential, The Hartford, Lincoln Financial, Aflac, MetLife, Guardian, New York Life, Mutual of Omaha, and others.
LeaveConsult.com, Ellimac Pipeline Inc., and Heal Before Work Psychology & Consulting, Inc. are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representatives of these organizations unless expressly stated otherwise.
Does contacting LeaveConsult.com guarantee that I will receive a leave of absence?
No. A request for leave does not automatically result in a clinical recommendation for leave.
Recommendations are based on an individualized clinical evaluation, symptoms, functional impairment, treatment needs, clinical judgment, and other relevant information. Employers, government agencies, benefit plans, and third party administrators may also have separate eligibility and documentation requirements.
Is taking a leave the only option?
No. A leave of absence is only one possible clinical recommendation.
Depending on the individual’s circumstances, treatment may involve psychotherapy while continuing to work, workplace accommodations, intermittent leave, coordination with other healthcare professionals, or other clinically appropriate interventions.
What happens when I am ready to return to work?
Return to work is not marketed as a separate evaluation service through LeaveConsult.com.
For established clients who have been receiving treatment during a leave of absence, returning to occupational responsibilities may naturally become part of the ongoing treatment process when clinically appropriate.
Can I continue therapy after returning to work?
Yes. Some clients choose to continue psychotherapy after returning to work. Continued treatment can provide support while reacclimating to occupational responsibilities, practicing new coping strategies, establishing healthier boundaries, and addressing difficulties before they become overwhelming.
Mental health care does not have to begin or end with a leave of absence. Proactive treatment may help individuals recognize symptoms earlier and develop skills for managing stress before functioning significantly deteriorates.
Is LeaveConsult.com a crisis service?
No. LeaveConsult.com is not an emergency or crisis response service. Individuals experiencing an immediate psychiatric or medical emergency should seek appropriate emergency assistance.
Does information on LeaveConsult.com constitute psychological, medical, or legal advice?
No. General information published on LeaveConsult.com is educational and informational. Viewing the website, submitting an inquiry, or communicating through a general website form does not by itself establish a psychologist-patient relationship.
Psychological services begin only after the appropriate clinical intake, informed consent, and other required procedures have been completed with the clinical provider.
Information concerning FMLA, CFRA, SDI, ADA accommodations, employment rights, or other laws and benefit programs is general information and is not legal advice.
